Help Desk Technician
Description of Job Duties:
Respond to requests for Windows desktop technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically. Deploy new hardware and make changes to computers by Installing memory, replacing hard drives, installing printers, etc. Diagnose/resolve technical hardware/software issues. Research questions using available Information resources and advise on appropriate action. Follow standard help desk procedures and log all help desk interactions.Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention. Track/route problems and requests and document resolutions. Inform management of recurring problems. Maintain desktop backups and antivirus software and generate required reports of status. Additional duties involving standard help desk tasks.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A.A.S. in Computer Science, A.A.S. in Microsoft Systems Administration, or similar IT Associate program.
Must be proficient in the following technologies: Microsoft Windows operating systems, TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, MS Office products, network printing configuration and support and standard PC hardware. Strong interpersonal skills are required for daily interaction with staff assistance needs; some knowledge of scripting in PowerShell is preferred.
